Trichy (or Thiruchichirapalli) is one of the largest cities in Tamil Nadu and one that is renowned for Sriragam Temple (One of the Pancha Ranga Kshetras and a renowned Pilgrim centre) and Jambukeswarar Temple (One of the five Panchbhoota Temples).
Trichy is renowned for the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple (or Srirangam Temple), a temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of Lord Vishnu, located near Trichy. The temple complex is spread over a large area and is constructed in the Dravidian Architecture, and is one of the most visited 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Few kms from Srirangam Temple is Jambukeswarar Temple, one of the five Panchbhoota temples of Lord Shiva and another impressive temple complex.
Srirangam and Jambukeswarar are visited as a stopover on the Madurai - Kumbakonam route as part of a Tamilnadu Hindu Pilgrim circuit.
