Tawang (10000 ft asl) is situated in remotest corner of India in Arunachal Pradesh and visited for its monastery. Tawang Monastery complex is 2nd largest complex of its kind after Lhasa in Tibet and therefore of extreme importance for every follower of Tibetan Buddhism.

The Torgya Festival is a three-day festival signifying the destruction of evil spirits and harmful forces. It is a Monastic festival celebrated every year in the 28th day of the eleventh month of the lunar calendar at Tawang Monastery, which generally falls in the month of January every year.

Tawang is about 300 kms from Guwahati and either one takes a helicopter ride or travels through an adventurous route via Sela Pass (13000+ ft asl) via Tezpur - Bomdilla route.
