Tadoba is (130-160 kms from Nagpur) is a prime wildlife destination renowned for its sighting of Tigers. Along with around 50+ tigers, Tadoba Tiger Reserve is a home for Leopards, Sloth Bears, Gaur, Wild Dogs, Hyenas, Civet and Jungle cats, and many species of Indian deer like Sambar, Cheetal, Nilgai, and Barking Deer. The Tadoba Lake sustains the Marsh Crocodile, which were once common all over Maharashtra.
Tadoda is accessed from its Core area gates (Moharli, Kolara, Navegaon and Pangdi) and Buffer area gates (Devaga, Agarzari and Junona), all offering its share of Tiger sightings alongwith sightings of Sloth bears, Leopards, Gaurs and Dholes.
The reservoir at the centre and Bamboo forests around ensures that Tigers criss cross the territory often thus ensure prolific Tiger sightings, making Tadoba prime destination for Tiger Sightings alongwith Bandhavgarh and Ranthambhore. Tadoba is rich in bird life with a varied diversity with around 200 varieties found in Winter.
