Pondicherry (Now also called “Puducherry’) is an erstwhile French Colony and guests from Bangalore (350+ kms), Chennai (160 kms) and all over India arrive for a getaway. Pondicherry has a unique all-french feel, small charming restaurants serving International & local cuisine and having beaches on both sides of Pondicherry within 15 kms radius.

# Auroville commune in Pondicherry is a major attraction.
# The heritage walk in French quarters and visit to the promenade is also popular.
# Bharati Park is also popular evening option with heritage buildings and large spread out area.
# Botanical gardens are also an excellent pastime with more than 1500 species of plants and is one of the best botanical gardens in South India.
# Varadaraja Perumal Temple (600 AD) is also well visited.
# Churches with architectural and historical significance.
# Panchavatee is a Panchamukha Hanuman Temple located 9 km from Pondicherry, India. The main deity is 36 feet high making it one of the tallest Hanuman idols.
# 7 kms from Pondicherry is Chunnambar, a backwater area where boathouse and sports center are setup. It is an area for locals and some tourists for recreation.
Scuba diving is also available in Pondicherry. Guests can hire a bicycle, bike or a self drive car and move around adding to convenience and overall experience. Morning Cycle Rickshaw heritage trail is also a good option to explore pondicherry.

# Guests traveling from Bangalore by road can certainly visit Thiruvannamalai (110 kms) Arunchalam temple enroute.
# Guests traveling from Chennai via ECR (East Coast Road) can visit Dakshinachitra craft village (130 kms) and Mahabalipuram (100 kms) shore temple enroute.
# Guests can take a day excursion to Chidambaram Nataraja Temple (70 kms), one of the prominent temples in the heritage circuit of South India.
# Gingee Fort (70 kms) is one of the few forts worth a visit in Tamilnadu. The fort is situated at a height of 800 ft and consists of three hills, connected by walls enclosing an area of 7 square kilometres. Guests travelling from Bangalore can visit Gingee fort enroute. Thiruvannamalai is only 40 kms from here.
