Paro is the main arrival point of any traveler to Bhutan, being home to the only international Airport.

Paro otherwise is a riverside town offering great views and an off-beat character to it. Paro is home to many resorts overlooking the river and offering excellent views.

Paro Valley is wide and verdant and is recognized a one of the most beautiful in all Bhutan. Nature travelers and offbeat travelers prefer to stay in Paro instead of Thimphu (65 kms).

Paro has a number of significant monasteries, Buddhist temples and view points. Chele La Pass (13000 ft asl) excursion (37 kms) is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan accessible from Paro offering stunning views of the Himalayan ranges.

Along with Punakha and Thimphu, Paro forms the 'golden triangle' of most visited tourist destinations in Bhutan. Paro is recommended for Off-beat travelers and honeymooners for a quiet getaway.
