Nainital Summer / Monsoon Getaway
Nainital (6500+ ft asl) is a renowned lakeside hill station at 300+ kms from Delhi. Nainital today is a popular getaway and a destination visited all round the year.
For getaway seekers, Nainital offers good weather, sightseeing spots (Museum, lake, boating, cable car etc). What Nainital doesn’t offer is sense of space. Hotels are crowded around the lake and parking is always an issue on weekends and peak season.
Nainital in Summer still has the best weather among all other Himalayan hamlets and most hotels do not even have a fan in the rooms (not required). Nainital is a popular Summer getaway from Delhi and areas around North India for this very reason.
Nainital in Monsoon isn’t too different from one in summer except that it rains a bit more. Wether typically gets misty and then rains arrive in a short burst and rarely ever it rains so much here to a point where the trip gets totally rained out. Nainital in Monsoon is excellent for those who are looking for a relaxing “Do nothing” getaway.
In terms of accommodation Nainital has luxury hotels, heritage hotels and value stay options.
