Lachung (120 kms from Gangtok) and Lachen are home to very ancient monasteries. Lachung and Lachen Monasteries were built in 19th century and are Nyingma Buddhist Gompas.

Lachung and Lachen area is very scenic and so is the location of these monasteries. Guests visiting North Sikkim areas of Lachung and Lachen, make it a point to visit these monasteries.
