Kaza Experience

Hillside Getaway | Remote Himalayas

Kaza (12000 ft asl) is home to world’s highest petrol pump. Its also from where one can visit world’s highest inhabited village. Its also one of the most sparsely populated area and a terribly inhospitable terrain weatherwise (Temperatures in winters touch minus 40 degree celcius).

The area is accessible between June - Sept when snow clears up on both sides of the area. Ki Monastery here is the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for Lamas. Ki Monastery is very significant for followers of Tibetan Buddhism and is one of the oldest ancient monasteries around.

Kaza town is like a two street town with a monastery at the center alongwith petrol pump with a few shops in the narrow bylanes just a walk away.

Guests to Kaza visit Kibber and Gete, World’s highest inhabited villages. Enroute to these villages one is able to have a stunning close range 360-degree views of the Himalayas and rugged landscape around.

Langza-Hikkim-Comic Day trek is also popular with high altitude remote Himalaya trekking enthusiasts.

Typical Stay Duration: 1 night Seasonality: Between June - Sept.
