Kanyakumari is a major destination at the southern edge of India, just South of Trivandrum (100 kms) where one can see Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea meet in the Indian Ocean. Kanyakumari lies at the southern most edge of Indian mainland and has been known for the place where Swami Vivekananda reportedly meditated on a rock in middle of the ocean. Kanyakumari is also kind of renowned for its beautiful Sunset and one of those places from where both Sunrise and Sunset can be seen.
Kanyakumari typically attracts guests for 1 night (typically as a part of Kerala Itinerary or extended Tamilnadu Heritage itinerary) to visit Suchindrum Temple, Kumari Amman Temple (Shakti Peetha) & Vivekananda memorial and at the same time experience beautiful Sunset. However 2 nights are recommended for a complete experience of the area.
