Kangra Valley is visited for its Devi Temples viz. Chintpurni, Jwalamukhi Devi temple, Vajreshwari Devi temple and Chamunda Devi
Chintpurni : Chintpurni (3000 ft asl) Temple is a Shaktipeeth and lies enroute from Chandigarh (200 kms) to Pathankot via Una (55 kms) on the Hoshiarpur (42 kms) - Dharmashala road.
Jwalamukhi Devi temple : Goddess Jwalamukhi is the deity of the flaming mouth. The temple is built over natural jets of combustible gas, believed to be the manifestation of goddess. About 35 km northeast from Chintpurni.
Vajreshwari Devi temple : This temple, which is one of the most famous Shaktipeeths of North India, is located in Kangra town. About 50 km north from Chintpurni.
Chamunda Devi : 15 kms from Palampur, this is a 700 year old Chamunda Devi temple.
Chintpurni / Jwalamukhi and Vajreshwari temple is part of a popular driving Devi pilgrimage itinerary ex-Chandigarh that involves, Naina Devi (Ropar, 60 kms from Chandigarh), Chintpurni / Jwalamukhi / Vajreshwari, Chamunda Devi and Mansa Devi (Panchkula near Chandigarh).
Chintpurni, Kangra Town, Palampur provides accommodation. From Chandigarh, this could be a two night - three days itinerary.
