Lesser known fact and lesser visited areas in Kashmir includes high altitude lakes that offer exceptional Himalayan beauty and panoramas in Summer. Some of these lakes are:

Kishansar Lake and Vishansar Lake – Located near Sonamarg, these lakes are renowned for their Brown Trouts and exceptional views. Camping is done in summer around the lake.

Satsar Lake – Located in Gandarbal region, Satsar is a seven cornered lake offering exceptional views. Camping is done in summer around the lake.

Gadsar Lake – Located in Gandarbal region, Gadar is one that is holy for Kashmiri pandits and is accessible from Srinagar as a day visit.
