Hemkunt Sahib marks the place where Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th and the last Guru unified with God after prolonged meditation. Hemkunt Sahib is one the most significant of Sikh Pilgrimage and the most inaccessible (Area is open between June-Sept). The shrine is situated at 280 kms from Rishikesh near famed valley of flowers and can be approached via a trek from Ghangharia.

Ghangharia (8000 ft asl) is situated off the Joshimath - Badrinath route and is the base point to access Sikh Pilgrimage Centre of Hemkunth Sahib and Valley of Flowers Trek (Valley flowers bloom in August).
