Cycling in Coastal Maharashtra - Day Trip ex-Mumbai

Adventure | Cycling

Nagaon Beach
Sunset at Revdanda

Coastal Roads in Coastal Maharashtra area are renowned for Seaforts, stunning Arabian Sea Views, Idyllic beaches and ones that have relatively lesser traffic (as most of them are used only by locals and tourists and do not have through heavy vehicular traffic). These Coastal Roads are popular with bikers and cyclists for a one day and multi-day trips.

Day trip ex-Mumbai that involves areas around Alibaug is one that is popular with Cyclists. The coastal roads to Alibaug (100 lms from Mumbai approachable from Gateway of India via 50 minute ferry ride) are marinated in old world culture, tradition and charm, replete with old Maharastrian wadis, heritage temples, simple Konkan style houses, fishermen villages and eateries that serve ethnic coastal cuisine.

Riding through fishermen drying their fish, repairing their nets in traditional attire, women in traditional sarees drawing rangolis on the road outside temples, the traditional village bazaar teaming with local produce is nothing short of a coastal Maharashtra cultural experience.

Weekend full day Cycling trip offers cyclists a quick insight is often the trigger to build a longer Coastal Maharashtra trip later. A typical trip starts early with a breakfast at Rewas. Rewas – Kihim - Alibaug is a 25 km cycle ride. One can travel beyond Alibaug to Revdanda, which is a further 18 km. This stretch passes through coastal villages of Akshi, Nagaon and Chaul. Visit to Siddhivinayak Temple enroute is optional. Lunch is usually at Alibaug, and we turn back in time to catch the evening ferry from Rewas back to Mumbai.

There is no support vehicle in this cycle trip, hence guests have an option to stay put at Alibaug instead of taking the Revdanda leg of the trip.

Coastal Maharashtra Day Cycling trip ex-Mumbai is one that allows coastal Maharashtra exploration for cycling enthusiasts with stunning views, coastal cuisine and quick sights and sounds of Coastal Maharashtra

How it Happens – One joins a group of Cycling enthusiasts organized by Odati Adventures. For a group exclusive and customized cycling experience can also be organized.

What we Offer - One trail expert, Hire & Use of Imported Geared cycles (Btwin Rockrider), Ferry service from Ferry wharf to Rewas and back and Meals including veg Breakfast, Lunch and evening refreshments
