Tal Chhappar Sanctuary is located near Salasar Dham (36 kms) and is renowned for its blackbucks and visited for its Bird watching winter.

Tal Chhappar Sanctuary is characterized by vast grasslands with very few trees. It lies on the way of the passage of migratory birds such as harriers. Some of the birds seen in the sanctuary include Eastern Imperial Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, sparrow, and Little Green Bee-eaters, Black Ibis etc..

Some of the resident birds like skylark, crested lark, Ring Dove, brown dove and blue jay are visible all through the year. Desert fox and desert cat can also be spotted along with partridge and sand grouse.

Tal Chhappar Sanctuary does not have too many lodges around and does not have any organized bird watching infrastructure. This makes it one that can offer exclusive experience for any well heeled bird watcher.
