Bird watching at Eaglenest Sanctuary

Eaglenest is notable as a prime birding site due to the extraordinary variety, numbers and accessibility of bird species there. 250 varieties of Butterflies and 300 species of birds have been recorded including 4 species of Hornbills.
Eaglenest sanctuary is part of an Elephant reserve comprising more than 300 elephants. Other wildlife here comprise Leopard, Clouded leopard, Red Panda, Musk deer, Sambhar, Hog deer, Himalayan black bear, Wild dog, Fishing cat, Jungle cat, Sunda Loris, Indian bison, Fox, Jackal, Black Giant Squirrel, Civet cat, Hare, Rhesus Macaque, Capped Langur and Yellow-throated marten.
For Migratory birds Oct-March is the best season to arrive here.
