Ayodhya

Ayodhya is significant being the birth place of Lord Rama. Ayodhya gained prominence after 1992 when Babri Masjid, part of Birth Place of Rama was brought down as a result of the long standing conflict. The act resulted into riots across India and Ayodhya gained prominence in terms of its Pilgrimage significance.

Ayodhya lies about 130 kms from Lucknow and 160 kms from Allahabad. Lack of good hotels around means that guests either do a day visit from either of these two destinations or visit Ayodhya while travelling from one to another.
