Following
destinations are accessible from Mumbai by a train
for a getaway.
Dandeli,
a wildlife sanctuary, a rainforest and an adventure
destination (visited for white water rafting from
Oct-May) is accessible from Belgaum (60 kms) or
Londa (36 kms) or Thivim / Panjim (110 kms). Bison
River Resort with its riverside location in
deep rainforest is a favourite for honeymooners
and adventure seekers. Kali
River Lodge, with its spreadout layout and
riverside location near Dandeli town, is a favorite
with families and adventure seekers.
Wildernest
Resort and Swapnagandha Resort are twin resort
on Chorla Ghats in middle of thick rain forest
and it is renowned for its adventure activities

is the best access point for Chorla Ghats being
just 50 kms away.

before Thivim on Mumbai-Goa Route is Sawantwadi
which is the access point for Amboli, an idyllic
hill station (25 kms from Sawantwadi and 60 kms
from Belgaum) which comes alive in monsoon when

Popular
Beach Resorts of Baga and Calangute area in North
Goa are accessed from Mumbai by convenient overnight
Konkan Railway trains. Same train go further southwards
to Karmali and Madgaon which is access points
for Panjim town and South Goa beaches respectively.

of Karwar Devbagh

Beach Resort. For the adventure seekers, Just
off the Coast on River Kali there is Paradise
Riveredge resort. While Karwar does get direct
trains as well from Mumbai, they arrive at odd
hours and thats why best accessed from Madgaon.
