Itinerary- Ooty - Bandipur - Wayanad (Ex-Coimbatore / Calicut)

This is a Short-Break Itinerary for visiting Hill station of Ooty, Plantation Retreat and Rain forests of Wayanand and Wildlife (Including Tiger) at Bandipur.  

Day 1 - Arrive in Coimbatore and Proceed to Ooty (90 kms) via Mettupalayam (40 kms). Guests who don't want hustle and bustle of Ooty can stay at Kurumba Village Resort near Mettupalayam. 
Day 2 - Day sightseeing in and around Ooty (Optional) 
Day 3 - Transfer to Bandipur (50 kms from Ooty). Bandipur is known for its thick forests and wildlife sightings including Tiger. Safari in the afternoon / evening.
Day 4 - Leave after Morning Safari to Wayanad (100 kms). You can either stay at a Plantation retreat near Sultan Battery or stay in a resort at Kalpetta or a Rainforest Retreat at Vythiri.
Day 5 - Day sight seeing at Wayanad (Pookoot Lake, Waterfall, Ancient temple, Muthanga Sanctuary etc.)
Day 6: Leave for Calicut (80 kms from Kalpetta)

Extension

Calicut - If you want to enjoy a backwater resort then Kadavu near calicut is an excellent option. If you prefer a beach retreat a the end of the stay then Kappad Beach near Calicut can be considered for further 1 night or 2 night stay.

Recommended Accommodation Option

Access - Calicut (Gets daily flights from Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore). Calicut is a major railhead on the Konkan Rail Route. Coimbatore (Gets daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangaloer). Coimbatore is a major railhead on the Southern Rail Route.
