Route - Bangalore Arrival - Bangalore (2 nights) - Mysore (2 nights) - Ooty (3 nights) - Kodaikanal (2 nights)

Highlight - This is a short-break Tourist Itinerary for visiting Bangalore, Mysore, Ooty and Kodaikanal. This is extension of a very popular old-timer summer circuit of Bangalore-Mysore-Ooty. Idea here is to enjoy good weather with an option to do some sightseeing.  


Recommended Itinerary (can be customised as per guest preferences)

  • Day 1: Arrive Bangalore - Arrive Bangalore Railway station/ airport and transfer to hotel. Rest day at leisure.

  • Day 2: Bangalore - After breakfast, proceed for half day sightseeing tour visiting visit the Vidhan Soudha or the State Secretariat, Cubbon Park, The Government Museum of Bangalore (one of India's oldest museums) and the Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum, The Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city. 

  • Day 3: Bangalore -Mysore (approx 145 kms / 3 hrs) - After early breakfast, depart by surface to Mysore (approx 145 kms / 3 hrs) enroute visiting Srirangapatnam, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Tippu’s Palace, Fort, Gumbaz, Tippu’s Summer Palace Arrive Mysore and directly proceed for sightseeing tour of Mysore visiting Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hill. Later check-in at hotel. Evening visit Brindavan Garden & Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary (Boat ride around bird nests). 
    Overnight at hotel 

  • Day 4: Mysore - After early breakfast, proceed for full day excursion to Sravanbelagola (approx 2 ˝ hrs) Visit Jain temple- atop of the hill with five hundred steps cut out of rock lead to the summit and the colossal statue of Lord Gomateswara, which is 1705 meters high. It is nearly eighteen hundred years old. Later, proceed to visit Hoysala Temples of Halebid & Belur Visit the Hoysaleshwar temple  at Halebid which is the most outstanding example if Hoysala art. At Belur, visit the Channekeshava temple  is the only one at the three Hoysala sites still in daily use. Late evening return back to hotel in Mysore. 

  • Day 5: Mysore -Ooty (approx 130 kms / 3.5 hrs) - After breakfast travel to Ooty via Bandipur and Mudumalai forests (enroute you may be able to spot some Deers and even Elephant herds !).

  • Day 6: Ooty - After breakfast, day free to explore the area. There are view points, Lake (boating), Rose Garden. Number of Bollywood and South Indian movies were shot here and several points are now visited by tourists for the same.

  • Day 7 : Day excursion to nearby plantations. Coonoor is one of the popular area to visit and there are number of view points.

  • Day 8: Ooty - Kodaikanal (approx 265 kms / 7 hrs) - After breakfast, depart by surface to Kodaikanal. 

  • Day 9: Kodaikanal - After breakfast, day free to explore the region. There is lake (Boating), View points and area looks and feel like an idyllic hill station. 

  • Day 10: Kodaikanal - Coimbatore (approx 175 kms / 4 hrs) - After breakfast, morning at leisure.
    12:00 hrs check-out and transfer to Coimbatore airport

Seasonality - Oct-March is better time for Bangalore. Ooty is good Oct-Nov and March-May period. Otherwise Oct-May is a good time for this itinerary.

Access : Bangalore is an International airport and a major railhead. Coimbatore is connected with most major cities in India by train or air.
