Itinerary- Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (Ex-Chennai)

This is a Short-Break Itinerary for visiting beach resorts of Mahabalipuram (also known for its Shore temple) and Pondicherry (also known for its distinct French Heritage)

Day 1 - Arrive in Chennai and take ECR to Mahabalipuram (60 kms). Take a beach walk and relax for the rest of the day. Visit local market and shore temple in the evening.
Day 2 - Options day visit to Kancheepuram (70 kms) known for its Temples and Kanjivaram Saris 
Day 3 - Proceed to Pondichery - 100 kms. Take a walk in the heritage bylanes and the promenade in the evening. Have Dinner by the Promenade. 
Day 4 - Relax for rest of the day OR Visit Auroville and some local spots or optional visit to Chidambaram (80 kms) to Nataraja Temple.
Day 5: Leave Pondicherry and reach Chennai by afternoon.

Access - Chennai (Gets daily flights from all major destinations of India). Chennai is a major railhead.
