Hotel
Sun Bird is located a mere stones throw from the entrance to the Keoladeo
National Park (Rajasthan,
India).
Keoladeo
Ghana National Park or popularly known as the Bharatpur Bird
Sanctuary, used to be a premier birding destination in India
attracting migratory birds in Winter (Oct-March) from all over the
world (such as Siberian Cranes). Few years of drought and local govt.
apathy saw Bharatpur go down as a birding destination due to lack of
water in the lake. However good monsoon in 2008 and Bharatpur is
expected to be back to its early glory full of migratory birds during
Winter 2008-2009. [ Bird List ]
The
hotel is a ideal place for the keen bird-watcher, offering services
required by birders and travellers looking for a peaceful experience
away from the crowd and noise of Agra and Mathura (both about 60 kms
away).
Bharatpur
is also well-located on the Agra - Jaipur route and therefore often
the choice for guests to stopover for a night, visit the bird sanctuary
and move on.
Distance
: 4 km from the railway station / bus stand, Agra (56 km,
1 hour), Delhi (176 km, 4 hours) and Jaipur (176 km, 4 hours),
