KALASHESWARA TEMPLE

Shiva’s temple which is more than 1000 years old and is located   5 kms. from the Resort.  The architecture and the construction are delight to watch.

Shiva is supposed to have come to Kalasa to give ‘Darshan’ to the great Saint Vashista.  The temple was earlier owning more than 50,000 acres of land. The temple is also known as Kashi of South India.

GIRIJAMBA TEMPLE

As per localaties, Girijamba is supposed to have come from Varanasi , ages ago to marry Kalasheswara.  Girija kalyana - Wedding of Shiva & Girija is conducted every year after Deewali.  The temple is located 5 Kms. away from the Resort.

HORANADU TEMPLE

The temple has Sri Annapoorneshwari as the diety and is located 12 Kms. from the Resort.  The temple attracts about 5000 visitors every day on an average.

SUBRAMANYA TEMPLE

The temple is located about10 Kms. away from Resort at the place called Halavalli.  The temple is on the banks of river Bhadra and has beautiful natural surroundings.

PANCHA THIRTHAS

Located around the village Kalasa.  They are Naga Thirtha, Vashista Thirtha, Rudra Thirtha, Amba Thirtha and Koti Thirtha.  Maharishi Vashista is supposed to have performed his penance here.  In AmbaThirtha, Sita Devi is supposed to have taken bath during their vanavas.  Amba Thirtha is a picturesque place and many film shootings have been done here.  Distance from resort 7 kms.

DUGGAPPANA KATTE

Excellent view point & one can see Kudremukh peak and the entire Kalasa village from this place. Kalinga snake is supposed to be guarding the wealth           of a king here.  Located just 7 kms. away from this resort, one can reach the peak by driving a jeep or by trekking 200 meters.

RIVERSIDE PICNIC SPOT

Private property next to river Bhadra.  Has thick forests and beautiful surroundings.  It is located 7 Kms. away from the resort.

KALLUBHAVI

Located 5 Km. from the resort.  This has 1 foot of water on a well which is full of rocks.  Irrespective of the quantity of water removed the level remain constant.

KUDREMUKH IRON ORE COMPANY

Project site - Located 16  km. from the resort.  The best mine in India .  One needs to take permission to go inside.

KUDREMUKH (MALLESHWAR)

Is 16 Km. away from the resort.  The interesting places to visit here are Lakya dam, Radhakrishna temple and a Kudremukh park.

GANGA MOOLA                

Origin of three rivers - Bhadra, Netra and Thunga. This is 30 Km. from the resort and is inside thick forest.  The origin of rivers takes place inside a cave.

VARAHA THIRTHA  

Located 31 Km. from the resort inside the forest. Excellent place for picnic as there has a clear water pond.

HANUMAN GUNDI   

Is located 32 Km. from the resort and has a fantastic waterfalls.  Water falls from a height of more than 100 feet.  One can bathe & play in the water. Getting into water involves little amount of trekking. One can visit this place only from October to May.

BHAGWATHI FOREST         

Located 30 Km. from the resort and is a dense forest.  Good spot for adventurers.

VEERA NARAYANASWAMY TEMPLE

Just in front of the resort and has 800 years of history.  The temple has a big ‘Champaka’ tree which is supposed to be more than 700 years old.  The temple is 10 minutes walk from the resort.

Around 5 Km. from the resort.

FOREST WALK

One can walk in the cultivated forest just next to resort.  Morning/Evening walk for over 2-3 Kms. can take the tourists to interesting sights of the Western Ghats and greenary.

SOMAVATHI FALLS

Located 20 Km. from the resort and is inside the forests.  Water falls from a height of 50 ft. and is a picturesque place.

KUDREMUKH PEAK

Excellent place for trekking.  One has to trek nearly 13 kms. to reach the peak.  At the highest point, there is a small water falls and the water is ice cold.  One can visit only during summer.
