: Farm visits, visits
to the surrounding tribal villages, an evening safari to the jungles along the
nearby Aisrana Ranges for
an experience of the wildlife. As these Jungles are not an enclosed national park,
night driving is permitted and you get to see hyenas, desert cats, panthers with
spotlights at dusk. Birding enthusiasts can drive out to Bithan and Punak which
is about 30 mins from Siana for a variety of local and visiting birds. During
the winter months species like Demoiselle cranes, variety of duck and geese, flamingoes
and pelicans can be sighted. Walks
around Siana : Owner has identified a couple
of routes that take you through small villages and
combines dry riverbeds, semi desert countryside, some hill crossing and
farmland area. These routes can also include night stay in tents. The whole
days walk would cover about 12 to 14 kms. For
Half day’s walk or a morning walk this can be modified to about 4 to 6 km. The
beauty of this walk is that one passes through small villages so the cultural
aspect of the region gets covered at the same time jeep safaris can be done in
the evening from the camp. Day
01: Start walk around 9 am after breakfast. Starting from the dry riverbed
walk northward in direction of village Nabi. Nabi is 6 km from Siana. Short rest
then continues towards Aisrana range. Lunch would be served at a farm enroute.
Night stay in tents. Total days walk would be about 14 km. Day
02: After breakfast walk towards Katkeshwar temple. From here cross the Aisrana
range coming down on the western slope at Jagnath temple. This is a half day’s
walk covering roughly about 7 km. Lunch would be served near this temple. From
here the guest has a choice of either continuing the walk towards Siana or taking
the jeep back to Siana. |
