Rajasthan Itinerary- Jaipur - Ranthambhore (4 nights)

This is a short-break tourist itinerary for Rajasthan that covers two major destinations in Jaipur (Forts and Palaces) and Ranthambhore (Wildlife). The Access here would be either by Train (Sawai Madhopur or Jaipur) or by flight (Jaipur) or Mixed (Arrival at Sawai Madhopur by Train and departure from Jaipur by flight or vice versa)


Day 1
- Arrive in Jaipur. Full day sightseeing covering Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar (Observatory), Hawa Mahal and possibly shopping in the evening. Evening Entertainment and Dinner at Chokhi Dhani (Ethnic Indian Restaurant).
Day 2 - Optional day for additional sightseeing and Shopping or relaxation.
Day 3 - Proceed to Ranthambhore (180 kms - 4 hours). Park visit in the Evening (Canter Safari).
Day 4 - Park visit in the Morning and Evening (Canter Safari).
Day 5 - Take train from Sawai Madhopur (12 kms from Ranthambhore) or take a flight from Jaipur (180 kms).  

Extensions  
  • Given 1 or two additional nights Bharatpur can be included between Jaipur and Ranthambhore. The Bagh (Orchard Retreat) / Laxmi Vilas (Heritage) / Birders Inn (Budget) at Bharatpur are good options where idea is to only visit certain monuments (such as The Taj) in Agra (60 kms) and spend rest of the time relaxing and visiting Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary (Bharatpur). From Bharatpur take train to Sawai Madhopur.

Recommended Accommodation Options - Jaipur - Bharatpur - Ranthambhore

Access - Sawai Madhopur is a major railhead in Northern Rail Routes.  Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan which gets trains and flights from all major centres in India.
