Panna is
situated just 40 kms from Khajuraho and used to be known for its
tigers (now reintroduced after the park was poached out a few years
ago), Diamond Mines and Ghariyals (Alligators) in River Ken.
Panna Tiger Sanctuary is a relatively new sanctuary and spots a
variety of wildlife, plants and birds. River Ken is also known for
Mahaseer Fishing.
Typical
Stay - 1 or 2 nights. Wildlife Photographers
could stay longer.
Seasonality
: Oct-March is the time when Inbound guests arrive. Domestic Guests
travel upto end-May.
Access -
Khajuraho (40 kms) is the closest Airport. Guest arrive at Satna (75
kms) and Khajuraho (40 kms).
Areas of
Accommodation Panna - There are few riverside lodges and a getaway
resort. Luxury oriented guests prefer to do a day visit from
Khajuraho.
