Homestay Manali
Meadows is a homestay located at fifteen minutes drive from the main Manali
town at Manali, Himachal Pradesh (India).
The
home stands amidst scenic nature and serene
stillness of the sky and the flora around. Guest enjoy sitting in
the front lawn sipping the local herbal tea and basking in the
morning sun.
The
Hosts - Sanjay Dutta and his wife Sunita are the hospitable hosts of the homestay. Being an
experienced journalist of a leading regional newspaper, Sanjay
is well-informed about the local people, their culture and
history. He likes interacting with people and exchanging
personal and professional experiences with his guests. Sunita
is an amazing cook who cooks delectable local cuisine like
Rajma (Red beans), Pulaov (fried rice) for vegetarians and
locally prepared mutton, chicken and fish for non-vegetarians.
The
Homestay - The
decor of the house reflects warmth and comfort, each room has its own color theme. The
three rooms are double bedded with attached bathrooms and
balconies, each one with a different view of the scenic beauty
around. The house is located on the foothill of a hill full of
cedar trees which provide for a different locale with every
changing season. One of the most interesting spots in the
house is the front lawn which has a small camping tent for the
adventurous sorts who don’t mind camping out for a night.
Around
- The closest tourist spots include the main Manali town and
monasteries, Rohtang Pass and the famous Hidimba temple (after
Hirma Devi, the wife of Bhima) which was built in 1553 A.D.
The temple has a four tiered pagoda shaped roof with a doorway
carved with mythological figures and symbols.
