Pune is traditionally the cultural capital of Maharashtra and now a major Software / IT / ITES / Auto Manufacturing Centre.  

Pune is also a base point to visit Bhimashankar temple and set of Ashtavinayak Temples. Old Pune has some heritage lanes and monuments that are worth the visit for those who are interested in architecture and history.

Distances - Lonavala (60 kms), Panchgani (100 kms), Mumbai (170 kms), Lavasa - 65 kms.

Seasonality : Visited all round the year. Oct-March is best season to visit weatherwise. 

Access - Pune is well connected with most major cities in India by Rail and Air. Nashik Road / Manmad are connected by Rail with Southern and Northern Rail routes.

Accommodation

  • City Centre - Pune City centre is divided in several localities such as Pune Railway Station, Shivaji Nagar Station, Deccan Gymkhana, Kalyani Nagar. Hotels here are made with business and transit travel perspective. Being city centre the locations are busy and bustling with a lot of traffic and all locations are about 10-12 kms from the airport which is on the outskirts of the City.

  • City Outskirts - Hinejwadi, Pimpri-chinchwad, Aundh, Baner are areas that one arrives before entering Pune while entering from Mumbai. These are the areas that have become a hub for mfg. and service industries.

  • Viman Nagar (7 kms from Pune Railway Station) - This lies right next to the Airport.

  • Hadapsar (7-11 kms from Pune Railway Station) - This is a locality South/East of Pune
