Maha/8 :
Bhandardara with Saputara
Route : Bhandardara
(2) - Saputara (2) (Recommended Ex-Mumbai / Ex-Pune / Ex-Surat /
Ex-Aurangabad)
Features :
This is a recommended all-season itinerary at its best in Monsoon
(June-Sept). Bhandardara
is a quaint little hill station (2400 ft) known for its waterfalls (during Monsoon)
and watersports in the vast Bhandardara lake. Saputara is another Hill station
about 170 kms from Bhandardara at 3000 ft above sea level on the Maharashtra-Gujarat
Border. Bhandardara is more remote and idyllic of the two and have more activities
on offers whereas Saputara is more touristy and have a lot of sightseeing spots
around it with a Cable Car being its main attraction.
Typical
Itinerary
Transport
: Ex-Nashik, Ex-Pune, Ex-Mumbai, Transport can be organised at actual costs.
Seasonality - This
circuit could be done all round the year. Monsoon (June-Sept) is the best time
to visit these destinations.
Access :
Mumbai is well connected with rest of India by Rail and Air and is one of the
two major arrival points (alongwith Delhi) for those coming into India.
Igatpuri and Nashik Road are somewhat mid-way between the two destinations and
therefore best stations to arrive. Most guest drive down from Mumbai (via
NH-03) or Pune or Nashik or Surat / Valsad / Vapi.
