Maharashtra (Konkan) is known for its greenery, coastal cuisine (seafood and other
preparations in a unique local style) and long stretch of uninhabited beaches.

can be looked upon as a a luxury getaway option ex-Mumbai / Pune,
good for honeymooner and getaway seekers.
- The route takes one around Coastal roads and NH-17 coastal highway and therefore the route would interest a luxury
seeker interested in a bit of driving around. Ganapatipule drive
ex-Pune / Ex-Mumbai is just about perfect for a driving
itinerary enthusiast at about 6-7 hours. There are plenty of
internal coastal routes ex-Ganapatipule / Ratnagiri and Chiplun
for guests to explore.
- This is also an excellent
train getaway. Chiplun and Ratnagiri are both major stations on
the Konkan rail route.

1 : Take a train to Ratnagiri and proceed towards Bhatye (5 kms) or Ganapatipule
(46 kms).

2: Sightseeing around Ganapatipule. Ganpatipule Ganesh Temple, Light
house, Birthplace of Lokmanya Tilak, Bhagwati Mandir, Mirkar Wada

3: Take a train from Ganapatipule to Chiplun.

Day 4 : Visit to Guhagar Beach and Parshuram Temple

Day 5 : Leave by Train
-Extension for driving itinerary guests - Guests may stopover
or spend a couple of days at Mahabaleshwar, a hill station at about
mid-way between Ganapatipule and Mumbai, closer to Pune.
Transport
: Ex-Ratnagiri and Ex-Chiplun Transport can be organised at actual costs.
Seasonality
- This circuit could be done all round the year. However
considering it rains a lot in Mahabaleshwar in Monsoon (June-Sept),
unless one likes lot of rains its not the best season then.
Access
: Most guests end up driving in from Mumbai / Pune / Kolhapur /
Belgaum or Goa. Chiplun and
Ratnagiri are both major stations on the Konkan rail route and
therefore an excellent train getaway from any city having connectivity
on the Konkan rail route.
