Cherai Beach: Where backwater meets the beach. Dense Coconut grooves and Chinese fishing nets on the waterfront accord it a supplemented allurement. Dolphins also could be viewed here occasionally.
Chendamangalam: Chendamangalam presents a unique combination of three rivers, seven inlets, hillocks and wide span of green plateau.
Kodungallur: Once the capital of the Cheraman Perumal. Kodungallur is at a distance of about 32 Km from Kochi. A mosque named Cheraman Juma Masjid which is considered to be the oldest in India, a fort constructed by the Portuguese and the renowned Bhagwathi temple are the tourist attractions over here.
Bhoothathankettu: Bhoothathankettu is a picturesque heaven established in a vast forest. The name of the place Bhoothathankettu evolved from a myth which said that this place known for its natural fortification of hills and forests were built by the ghosts.
Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary: Thattekad is considered to be one of the most prominent bird sanctuaries in South India, located on the Kochi - Munnar, route. A boat travel from Bhoothathankettu to that of Thattekad is a memorable experience amidst the evergreen forests providing shelter to the migratory and domestic birds.
Periyar River at Aluva: The Periyar appears to be an eternally beautiful river which coyly travels via Aluva and soothes one with its timeless beauty. The Periyar River appears to be a suitable place for swimming.
Varapuzha: There are boats services available from Varapuzha River to Ernakulam. There is a 1642 year Mount Carmel church acknowledged to be the second Indian vicariath instituted by Holy See after Goa. The Portuguese church bells over here are of great interest.
St.George Forane Church, Edapally: This is regarded as a crucial pilgrimage center. The Roman Catholic Church was constructed here as earlier as in 594 AD in the land contributed by the Raja of Edappally. This church is regarded to be one of the ancient churches in Kerala. The Edappally St. George Church building was constructed here in 1080.
Mangalavanam: This mangrove forest is considered to be a small bird sanctuary - Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, situated at the back of the Kerala High Court building.
Pallippuram Fort: Pallipuram Fort was constructed by the Portuguese in the year 1503. It is one of the ancient prevailing European monuments in India. The fort was under Dutch dominancy in 1661 and it was sold to the State of Travancore in 1789. The Catholic Church at Pallippuram is a crucial pilgrimage center of the Christians.
Gundu Island: Gundu Island is the smallest island situated around Kochi within a vicinity of only 5 acres. A coir factory is situated here for converting coir into rope manually and handmade carpets are made by looms.
