- This is a classic short-break
that covers plantation regions of Coorg (2500-3500 ft asl Known as Scotland of India for its weather
and countryside) and Chikmagalur (3000-3500 ft asl more laidback and off-beat in
character). Both Destinations are renowned ex-Bangalore getaways and
therefore can be combined to make it into a relaxing experience.
Coorg
(2500-3500 ft asl) - It is about coffee plantations, drives and salubrious weather all
round the year. For those interested in Sightseeing There are waterfalls
(Abbey Falls), Elephant experience (Dubare elephant camp), Zoo (Nisargdhama),
Temple (Omkareshwar) and Talcauvery (Origin of Cauvery). for activity
centric guests there is trekking, bird watching, rafting, plantation
walk, fishing and forests drives (in South Coorg). For
authentic Coorg Cuisine and plantation experience, a stay at a
plantation homestay is recommended. Chikmagalur
(3000-3500 ft asl) - Coffee plantations and forests combine to give a feel
that is a little different to Coorg. The area is less populated and
plantations are larger, surrounded with hills, forests and river
streams.
Trekking in the
mountains, Walking through the Coffee
Plantation, Bird Watching are popular
activities here. Guests can visit Halebid and Belur temples that are well
visited. Kemmanagundi hill station is also accessible from here.

Best
Season to Visit - All round the year. Even during
monsoon it rains intermittently and can be a good experience if idea is to
enjoy a bit of rainfall as well.
