- 46 kms from Coimbatore, starting point of the heritage train and so an
overnight stay here is a must to be able to take the morning 7 AM train to
Ooty.
Ooty (6500+ ft asl) -
Ooty is a heritage hill station experience. Some of the Colonial heritage
bungalows are now fine heritage hotels and is an experience staying here.
There are view points, lake with boating and number of other touristy
sightseeing options, however the base idea always is to enjoy good weather
and green surroundings.
Coonoor
(4500 ft asl) - Here on can experience a
self-sufficient farm that employs state-of-art eco-friendly methods of
cultivation
where it produces English
vegetables
/ herbs, Dairy products and Fruits.
Basic idea of a
stay here is to be away from Ooty and its touristy feel and stay at a homely
stay / farm. While here one can engage into activities such as Horse Riding, Rock Climbing, River Crossing, Fishing (Carp and Trout),
Open Jeep Rides.
