Destination Info

Mudumalai

Mudumalai / Masinagudi : (Tamilnadu)- 250 kms to the South of Bangalore. It is extremely varied with hills, valleys, ravines, watercourses and swamps full of wildlife. It is famous for its population of elephant herds. It is visited for natural surroundings.

Masinagudi is a nature centric destination and a popular ex-Bangalore getaway for corporates and individuals.

Tamilnadu isn't too active in terms of promotion of wildlife and activities and therefore the destination is more nature centric with a wildlife backdrop with Bandipur (25-30 kms) in the nearby Karnataka offering serious safaris.

- Mysore - Mudumalai highway passes through the reserve forest and one can spot Deers and even Elephant herds right on the highway. This is popularly termed locally as "Main road safari".
