The
Cottage at Jeolikote is located between Kathgodam and Nainital
and is ideal for exploring the Nainital region (Uttaranchal,
India).
There's
plenty of fresh air, tons of fruit trees, mysterious old
red-roofed and ivy-emblazoned cottages for you to explore. You
can also take off to the nearby Lake District of Bhimtal,
Sattal and Naukuchiatal. Ranikhet and Almora (about 2 hours)
and Binsar (3 hours) are perfect anytime of the year.
The
Cottage, a charming, family run resort at Joelikot, gives you
wonderful insights into some of the finest elements of Kumaon
craftsmanship. Centre stage are antique carved wooden panels,
doors and windows (unique to these hills).
The eight acres of land around the cottage are a tangle of
fruit bearing trees, seasonal flowers and sweet-scented
shrubs. Avocado, pears, plums and peaches transport you to a
Mediterranean wonderland of nectar-doped bees, songbirds,
scented breezes and moonlit nights.
Distance:
Nainital : 15 kms, Kathgodam : 10 kms
Jeolikote
is visted as a Weekend
getaway ex-Delhi (310 kms) or as a part of an Uttaranchal
