Expert
View - Considering the distance between Jammu / Katra and rest of
the destinations in Kashmir, this is not the best itinerary if idea is
to have a relaxed flow. Jammu / Katra are better visited with
Dharamsala / Dalhousie / Amritsar circuit. This option to be recommended
only for those who arrive at Jammu by Train.

Access:
Jammu
gets trains and flights from all over India via Delhi and Srinagar gets
direct flights from Mumbai, Jammu and Delhi. Itinerary can be started from
Jammu and end at Srinagar or Vice Versa.

Seasonality
- This is a April-November months itinerary (Dec-March, Jammu-Srinagar
highway can get blocked anytime due to snow fall. Most hotels in Pahalgam
are closed in Jan-Feb).

Itinerary (This is an indicative itinerary, Sequence of the
activities can be customised as per season and guest preferences)

Day 1
and Day 2- Arrive in
Jammu and tranfer to Katra (50 kms). By day 2 complete Vaishnodevi
darshan.

Day 3 -
Proceed for Patnitop - Overnight at Patnitop. You may visit local
sightseeing spots in the evening.

Day 4
and Day 5- Proceed for Pahalgam (180 kms). Enjoy the riverside beauty
of Pahalgam. Sightseeing in Pahalgam. Instead of sightseeing day treks
can also be considered.

Day 6
and Day 7- From Pahalgam proceed to Gulmarg. Spend Two days marvelling
at the snow peaks around Gulmarg (Gondola i.e. Cable Car ride to the
higher slopes and better views is a must).
Skiing is possible from Mid-Dec to mid-March
(Subject to snowfall and weather) and there
is a Golf course that opens up in Summer.

Day 8
to Day 10: Srinagar and relax 3 days in a Houseboat or a resort on Dal
Lake. While at Srinagar enjoy a shikara ride, visit local markets for
shopping and visit Mughal Gardens. Visit Sonmarg as a Full day visit
from Srinagar.

11: Take a flight back.

and Comments
* Above itinerary is assuming guest would be covering Vaishnodevi
and back on foot. If Helicopter ride is to be considered and if arrival at
Jammu is early enough then 1 night stay Katra can be considered instead of 2
nights.
* For lack of adequate accommodation in Sonmarg, its considered for day
visit from Srinagar.
