HP - 03 - Itinerary- Heritage Punjab, Jammu & Himachal - Patiala - Amritsar - Jammu - Dalhousie - Dharamsala / Mcloedgunj - Palampur - Pragpur

Highlight
- There are a number of interesting heritage hotels in Punjab, Jammu and Kangra Valley area and they can be connected in many different ways based on the time on hand, objectivity and availability. Upto 10 nights can be spent here.

Baradari Palace, Patiala - 70 kms from Chandigarh, Capital of Princely State of Punjab, rich in heritage and history. Baradari Palace is now a Neemrana Non-hotel and is the only heritage hotel in town.

Ranjit's Svaasa - Svaasa is an 18th century colonial heritage mansion centrally in Amritsar. The feel of the mansion, its antique collection and genuinely warm hospitality are highlights. Amritsar is visited for the Golden temple.

Hari Niwas Palace - Hari Niwas Palace is an art-deco structure, converted into a heritage hotel in the year 1990. Within the 50 acre palace complex also hosts the Amar Mahal Palace Museum. The estate offers very good views of the area around and from here one can do day visits in and around the area.

Dalhousie - This was a getaway destination for the pre-independence Lahore and now an idyllic hill station (6500 ft asl) and sports very good Hilamayan views around. Grand View and Mount View are the twin pre-independence era heritage hotels near Bus Stand. Silverton Estate is a smaller heritage retreat away from the town.

Dharamsala / Mcleodgunj - Twin towns that has quite a few heritage hotels, most of them now managed by HP Tourism (e.g. Kashmir House) . There are some other which fall in homely to idyllic category (Such as Glenmoor Cottages, Chonor House). White Haven Estate is a plantation estate.

Palampur - Tea Plantation country. There are number of heritage stays here none better than Taragarh Palace. Tara Villa Homestay is a homely plantation stay.

Pragpur - A heritage village and Judges court, a heritage home set with a very laidback and scenic backdrop. One can stay anywhere from 2 nights to a week.

Nalagarh - A heritage hotel, 20 acre estate, at 60 kms from Chandigarh and now right next to Baddi, the new industrial area. Guest prefer to stay here to avoid a crowded and city like Chandigarh stay.

Fort Ramgarh - A Heritage hotel, at Panchkula (Twin-city to Chandigarh). If a stay at Chandigarh is what is required then Fort Ramgarh is where one can enjoy a bit of heritage while being not too away from town centre.
