Itinerary- Dalhousie - Mcloedgunj (Upper Dharamsala) (5 nights) with Extensions

This is a Short-Break Itinerary for visiting Hill Stations of Dalhousie and Mcleodgunj (Upper Dharamsala).

Day 1 - Arrive in Pathankot / Chakki Bank Station or Pathankot Airport. Proceed to Dalhousie (80 kms - 2 hours). Dalhousie is a British-era hill station located at 6000 ft above sea level.   Relax for rest of the day.
Day 2- Full Day sightseeing to Khajjiar (22 kms), Chamba(50 kms from Dalhousie same route as Khajjiar).
Day 3 - Relax and visit few local sightseeing spots (Churches, Barkota Hills, Kalatop view points etc.) and shops in the evening.
Day 4 - Proceed to Mcloedgunj (140 kms). Visit Dalai Lama Temple at Mcloedgunj, Bhagshu Nag Temple at Bhagshu and in the evening visit local shops at Mcloedgunj
Day 5 - Day Sightseeing to Visit Chamundadevi Temple and Palampur Tea Gardens (65 kms one-way). Alternatively visit Naddi Area and do a short-trek, nature walk around the area.
Day 6 - Proceed to Gaggal Airport (30 kms) or Pathankot (100 kms)

Extension : 

• 1 night extension at Kangra Valley and you can visit heritage village of Pragpur, Jwalamukhi Temple and Chitpurni Temple.

• 1 night extension at Palampur and you can visit Billing Area where a lot of adventure activities are conducted (Hang gliding, Paragliding etc.)

• 1 night extension at Amritsar (190 kms from Dalhousie and 200 kms from Dharamsala) and you can visit the Sacred Sikh Shrine of Golden Temple and visit Wagha border (India-Pakistan Border) 

Recommeded Accommodation Option

Access - Jammu / Amritsar / Pathankot / Gaggal Airports (Gets daily flights from New Delhi). Amritsar / Jammu / Pathankot / Chakki Bank is the station for Access.
