Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrival at Nagpur. Travel to Pench. Evening Safari. Arrive at Nagpur. Travel to Pench (90 kms, 1.5 hour). Pench is a National park that lies on the Maharashtra - MP border and is renowned for its Tiger Population. Migratory birds are good in Winter (Oct - March) and other prominent population comprises Gaur (Indian Bison), Spotted Deer, Leopards etc. Evening Safari in Pench.

Day-2 Morning and Evening Safari. Morning and Evening Jeep Safari in Pench National Park. Elephant back Tiger Tracking (Tiger Show) can be availed if organised on the day of the travel.

Day-3 Morning Safari. Proceed to Pachmarhi. Morning Safari and proceed to Pachmarhi (200 kms - 5 hours). Pachmarhi (3500+ ft asl) is the only hill station in state of Madhya Pradesh and renowned for its colonial style heritage hotels and pleasant climate all round the year.

Day-4 Sightseeing in and around Pachmarhi Full day sightseeing to Pandav Caves, Jata Shankar Temple, Christ Church, Bee Fall - Waterfall, Apsara Vihar, Reenchgarh (Caves). Evening visit to Sunset point.

Day-5 Trek to Dutchess falls OR Boating in Lake OR Parasailing. Afternoon visit to Gupt Manadev, Bada Mahadev and Chauradevi (Time Permitting) Morning trek to Dutchess Falls (1 km steep trek down and up). Guests not up for trekking may visit the lake and do a bit of boating. Adventure oriented guests may opt for paragliding (Seasonal). Afternoon visit to Handi Khoh (Deep Valley), Gupt Mahadev, Bada Mahadev and time permitting climb up few hundred steps to Chauragarh Temple.

Day-6 Proceed to Bhopal. Enroute visit Bhojpur Shiva Temple and Bhimbhetka prehistoric caves. Do boating in evening. Proceed to Bhopal (200 kms - 5 hours) enroute visit Bhimbetka caves (Prehistoric Caves and World Heritage site) and Bhojpur Shiva Temple (renowned for its very tall Linga). Evening visit the lake and do some boating.

Day-7 Half day Excursion to Sanchi. Local sightseeing. Half day excursion to Sanchi (46 kms - 1.5 hour). Sanchi and its Stupas are a major destination on the Buddhist circuit and visited by all travellers all round the year. In the afternoon return to Bhopal and explore heritage character of Bhopal and visit Mosques (Taj-ul-Masjid (Mosque), Jama Masjid, Moti Masjid), Laxmi Narayan Temple and Museums (Archeology Museum, Rashtriya Manav Sanghralaya).

Day-8 Departure Depart for onward journey.

Bhopal :

  • Laxmi Narayan Temple / Birla Temple - Laxmi Narayan Temple (also known as the Birla Mandir), is situated to the south of the Lower Lake on the Hills, offers view of the Bhopal city and the lake around it. Adjacent to the Lakshmi Narayan Temple, there is a sculpture museum that is worth a visit.

  • Archeology Museum - Archaeological museum includes temple sculptures and bronzes.

  • Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya - A park cum museum depicting tribal heritage of India (Over 400 diff tribes covered).

  • Bhojpur Shiva Temple - Bhojpur is renowned for its 11th century Shiva temple, which is home to Indias biggest Shivling (5.5 meter), built by royal family of Bhopal.

  • Bhimbhetka Caves - Bhimbetka Caves situated 46 km south of Bhopal and is home to caves with prehistoric paintings.

  • Sanchi Stupa - Sanchi is just 46 km Bhopal and home to Buddhist heritage site and a UNESCO world heritage site. Its a major attraction for the Inbound and domestic tourists and a must visit for any heritage traveller.

Pachmarhi :

  • Pandav Caves - A Set of Caves where it is believed that Pandavas (Mahabharata) stayed over.

  • Pachmarhi Catholic Church - Pachmarhi Catholic Church is a colonial era Church in Pachmarhi near town centre.

  • Jata Shankar - Jatashankar is a Lord Shiva Cave temple near Pachmarhi town centre. One is required to walk a few steps (about 500 meters walk) to access the temple. Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple is also visited alongwith.

  • Apsara Vihar - Apsara Vihar is one a popular but a bit touristy waterfall near Pachmarhi. The waterfall is approachable via a short walk.

  • Reechgarh - A set of caves enroute to Sunrise / Sunset point where Bears used to take shelter earlier.

  • Handi Khoh - Handi Khoh is a view point where one can see valleys and gorges around alongwith the thick reserve forest.

  • Bee Falls - Bee Fall is one of the popular waterfalls in and around Pachmarhi. Bee Falls are approachable via a short downhill walk. There are tea stalls setp up at the Bee falls serving soft drinks, noodles and some snacks.

  • Dutchess Falls - Dutchess Fall is one of the waterfalls in and around Pachmarhi where one require to trek a bit. Dutchess Falls are approachable via a short but steep 1 km downhill walk. There are tea stalls setp up at the falls serving soft drinks, noodles and some snacks.

  • Gupt Mahadeo - Gupt Mahadeo is a cave temple that lies at the foothills of Churagarh trek at about 100 meters walk from parking area. One is required to pass through a narrow cave for the Darshan.

  • Bada Mahadeo - Bada Mahadeo is situated near Gupt Mahadeo is a Lord Shiva Temple set in a large cave with water dripping on the Shivling as well all over inside the cave.

  • Chauragarh Peak - Chauragarh is home to Chauradevi Temple and is accessible via a 3 km walk involving about 500 steps. The top offers view of the surrounding hills, valleys and reserve forests.

Pench :

  • Bird Watching and Wildlife in Pench - Pench is a sanctuary bordering Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, accessible from Nagpur (90 kms).This is southern topical dry deciduous forest and is a home to a variety of wild animals and migratory / resident Birds. Pench is a renowned Tiger sanctuary and most accessible and also visited for its Migratory birds.
