Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Bhopal. Proceed to Pachmarhi. Arrive at Bhopal. Proceed to Pachmarhi (200 kms - 5 hours). Pachmarhi (3500+ ft asl) is the only hill station in state of Madhya Pradesh and renowned for its colonial style heritage hotels and pleasant climate all round the year.

Day-2 Sightseeing in and around Pachmarhi Full day sightseeing to Pandav Caves, Jata Shankar Temple, Christ Church, Bee Fall - Waterfall, Apsara Vihar, Reenchgarh (Caves). Evening visit to Sunset point.

Day-3 Trek to Dutchess falls OR Boating in Lake OR Parasailing. Afternoon visit to Gupt Manadev, Bada Mahadev and Chauradevi (Time Permitting) Morning trek to Dutchess Falls (1 km steep trek down and up). Guests not up for trekking may visit the lake and do a bit of boating. Adventure oriented guests may opt for paragliding (Seasonal). Afternoon visit to Handi Khoh (Deep Valley), Gupt Mahadev, Bada Mahadev and time permitting climb up few hundred steps to Chauragarh Temple.

Day-4 Proceed to Madhai range of Satpura. Evening Safari. Proceed to Madhai range of Satpura (100 kms - 2.5 hours). Satpura is one of the newest parks in Central India. Set around a river, Satpura is a Tiger Sanctuary offers innovative park experiences such as walking safari, boat safari, canoe safari etc. alongwith the Jeep safari and is considered excellent for Bird watching, Gaurs (Indian Bison) and Sloth Bears. Evening Boat Safari.

Day-5 Jeep Safari in the morning and afternoon Canoe Safari / Elephant Safari / Walking Safari Jeep Safari in the morning and afternoon Canoe Safari / Elephant Safari / Walking Safari.

Day-6 Departure After breakfast depart for onward journey.

Detailed Sightseeing

Pachmarhi :

  • Pandav Caves - A Set of Caves where it is believed that Pandavas (Mahabharata) stayed over.

  • Pachmarhi Catholic Church - Pachmarhi Catholic Church is a colonial era Church in Pachmarhi near town centre.

  • Jata Shankar - Jatashankar is a Lord Shiva Cave temple near Pachmarhi town centre. One is required to walk a few steps (about 500 meters walk) to access the temple. Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple is also visited alongwith.

  • Apsara Vihar - Apsara Vihar is one a popular but a bit touristy waterfall near Pachmarhi. The waterfall is approachable via a short walk.

  • Reechgarh - A set of caves enroute to Sunrise / Sunset point where Bears used to take shelter earlier.

  • Handi Khoh - Handi Khoh is a view point where one can see valleys and gorges around alongwith the thick reserve forest.

  • Bee Falls - Bee Fall is one of the popular waterfalls in and around Pachmarhi. Bee Falls are approachable via a short downhill walk. There are tea stalls setp up at the Bee falls serving soft drinks, noodles and some snacks.

  • Dutchess Falls - Dutchess Fall is one of the waterfalls in and around Pachmarhi where one require to trek a bit. Dutchess Falls are approachable via a short but steep 1 km downhill walk. There are tea stalls setp up at the falls serving soft drinks, noodles and some snacks.

  • Gupt Mahadeo - Gupt Mahadeo is a cave temple that lies at the foothills of Churagarh trek at about 100 meters walk from parking area. One is required to pass through a narrow cave for the Darshan.

  • Bada Mahadeo - Bada Mahadeo is situated near Gupt Mahadeo is a Lord Shiva Temple set in a large cave with water dripping on the Shivling as well all over inside the cave.

  • Chauragarh Peak - Chauragarh is home to Chauradevi Temple and is accessible via a 3 km walk involving about 500 steps. The top offers view of the surrounding hills, valleys and reserve forests.

Satpura National Park :

  • Wildlife and Bird Watching in Satpura - Madhai range of Satpura is situated by a river at about 90 kms from Pachmarhi, off Bhopal - Pipariya road and is one of the most recent parks to have opened in central India and is known for its Bird watching and wildlife population (Wild boar, Sloth Bear, Gaur (Indian bison) with occasional sighting of Leopards and Tigers. The river around the reserve forest makes for an excellent range of safari options that include Boat safari, Canoe Safari, Walking safari, elephant safari and the traditional Jeep safari.

Destination Overview

Bhopal - Bhopal is the capital of the of Madhya Pradesh also known as the Lake city as its landscape is dotted with a number of natural lakes. It is visited for its monuments that highlight Islamic architecture and lies in close proximity to Saanchi (46 km), a Buddhist heritage site.

Pachmarhi - Pachmarhi is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh. Set on a Plateau at about 3500 ft above sea level, Pachmarhi is full of charming colonial era architecture buildings and retains an old world charm.

Satpura National Park - Satpura is a Tiger Sanctuary accessible from Madhai range at 60 kms from Pipariya and 100 kms from Pachmarhi. The area has healthy population of Gaur, Sloth Bear and Leopards and is excellent for bird watching with more than 200 species found around the area.
