Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrival at Ljubljana Arrival at Ljubljana. Explore Ljubljana on own.

Day-2 Local sightseeing at Ljubljana Proceed for local sightseeing of Ljubljana with a local guide and visit Baroque Old Town at the foot of Castle Hill, Art Nouveau Mansions, open air market and Ljubljana river. Afternoon spend time on your own leisure.

Day-3 Transfer to Bled Transfer from Ljubljana to Bled and post arrival go on a local sightseeing tour with a local guide. Visit Lake Bled, natural Bled Island and Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary. Spend the afternoon at your own leisure.

Day-4 Excursion to Bohinj Excursion to Bohinj and visit Bohinj Lake with a local guide. Spend the rest of the day exploring the town and then return back to Bled.

Day-5 Sightseeing at Postojna – Transfer to Portoroz Transfer from Bohinj to Postojna and visit Postojna cave with the help of an audio device (Slovenia’s largest known cave system with diversity in shape, formations and characteristics). Later get transferred to Portoroz.

Day-6 Excursion to Koper Explore the Slovenian Coast with a local guide and visit Koper – Cathedral, Praetorian Palace, etc., Izola–known for its fishing / winemaking traditions and Piran – known as the smallest city rich in history and palaces ranging from 12th century.

Day-7 Explore Portoroz and Transfer to Ljubljana Spend the morning at your leisure to explore Portoroz town and later in the afternoon get transferred to Ljubljana

Bled :

  • The Bled Castle - The Bled Castle is perched atop a rocky cliff overlooking the pristine Lake Bled. This medieval castle is believed to the oldest castle in Slovenia and its most visited tourist attraction. The castle is home to a museum with exhibits tracing the lake's history, and a collection of period furniture and armoury.

  • Bled Island and the Church of Assumption - Bled Island is a beautiful fairytale-like romantic Island located in the middle of the Lake Bled. The island is home to a historic church and a bell tower. The island can be visited by renting a rowboat or on guided day trips. A flight of 99 steps lead to the 17th century Baroque Church of Assumption. It is believed that originally on this island, there was a temple dedicated to the pagan Goddess of love and fertility, Ziva. According to a tradition here, if a husband carries his newly married bride the up the 99 steps from the dock into the church, the couple will be ensured a happy marriage, and if they ring the bell it will fulfil their wishes.

  • Vintgar Gorge near Bled - Vintgar Gorge is the most beautiful and popular gorge in Slovenia that has attracted tourists for over 100 years. The highlight of this 1.6 km gorge is the 1600-metre wooden walkway that offers spectacular views of the crystal blue Radovna River and reaching up to the gorgeous 13-metre high Sum Waterfall. Vintgar Gorge can be visited on a day trip from Bled as well as Ljubljana.

Ljubljana :

  • Bridges in Lujbljana - Lujbljana is home to some charming bridges that span across the Ljubljanica River. Popular among them are the Triple Bridge and Dragon Bridge. The Triple Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located near the Preseren Square. The middle section of the bridge is believed to date back to 1842 while the two newer side bridges were designed by architect Joze Plecnik in 1931. It is these two side bridges that give the bridge a triangular look. The Dragon Bridge derives its name from the Greek story of Jason and Golden Fleece. According to the legend, it was here in the Ljubljanica River where a dragon lived and Jason slew it. The bridge is adorned with four bronze dragons that are believed to guard the bridge.

  • The Preseren Square - Lujbljana - Named after the renowned poet Frances Presere, the Preseren Square lies in the heart of Ljubljana. This marvellous public square is home to some wonderful Secessionist architecture. The 17th century Baroque Franciscan Church is a popular sight overlooking the square. This pedestrian square is also serves as a venue for the Ljubljana carnival, concerts, political gatherings and protests.

  • Metelkova Centre in Ljubljana - Metelkova is an autonomous social centre located on a former military barracks in the heart of Ljubljana. Metelkova is a hub of Ljubljana's bustling offbeat art, music and cultural activities. It is home to various art galleries, underground pubs, artist studios, and home to several punk rock, dub, techno, and heavy metal music concerts. The Ethnographic Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Arts are located here.

  • The Ljubljana Castle - The Ljubljana Castle is perched on top of a majestic hill overlooking the city. Originally built in the twelfth century, the castle was reconstructed in the sixteenth century following an earthquake. For centuries the castle was used to defend the city. Today between June to September the castle serves as venue for the Ljubljana Summer Festival. The highlight of the castle is the observatory tower that offers spectacular views of Ljubljana and the Julian Alps. The castle can be reached by foot, for the more adventurous, or by a furnicular railway that departs hourly from the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre. Entrance to the Castle Courtyard, Chapel, Wall and Gift shop is free, but there is a charge for access to the tower.

  • The Postojna Caves - The Postojna Cave is a large karst cave and a top tourist attraction in Slovenia. The gigantic stalagmite and stalactite formations in the cave make you amaze at nature's beauty. For centuries the cave area was explored by local residents, but the inner parts of the cave were explored only in 1818. In 1819 Archduke Ferdinand I was the first official visitor of the cave, and since the past almost 200 years, the cave has attracted millions of visitors. With a network of 20 km of passages, galleries and chambers, the Postojna cave can be explored on a guided tour of the cave in a cave train and on foot. The cave is lit by electric lighting allowing you to admire the beauty of this natural wonder. Located at 55 kms from Ljubljana, the Postojna Cave can be easily accessed from Ljubljana by train or bus.

  • Vintgar Gorge near Bled - Vintgar Gorge is the most beautiful and popular gorge in Slovenia that has attracted tourists for over 100 years.   • Skocjan Caves - The caves have such exceptional scientific significance that they have been included in the UNESCO's list of natural and cultural world heritage sites in 1986. The cave is home to the largest underground canyon in the world and is 2600 m long. You will see diverse stalactite forms that are crass but marvellous, including limestone pools, and larger stalactites in the Great Hall, with Giant stalagmites. Guided tours take place every day throughout the year.

Portoroz :

  • Fonda Fish Farm in Portoroz - Fonda Fish Farm is part of the Slovenian Sea where fishes are found in abundance and is also a famous tourist spot to learn about sea life, feed the fish, etc.

Portoroz - Portoroz is an Adriatic Mediterranean coastal Municipal town of Piran in south west part of Slovenia. Portoroz is Slovenia’s must visit tourist area as well as one of the largest modern marinas on the Adriatic coast.
