Day 1 - Arrive at Ahmedabad and Proceed to Talaja (300 kms) and return to
Adpur / Bhavnagar for the overnight stay.

Day 2 - Visit Palitana Temples and
by afternoon reach Junagadh (200 kms).

Day 3 - Visit the
Girnar Temple in the morning.

Day 4 - Junagadh
to Ahmedabad / Mehsana (300 - 350 kms).

Day 5 -
Mehsana / Ahmedabad to Mount Abu. Enroute visit Vadnagar, Talaja and Khambhariyaji
temples. Visit Dilwara Temple in the evening.

Day 6 - Visit Ranakpur Temple (80
kms), Eklingji Temple and return to Ahmedabad
(280 kms) late in the evening.

Information -
Talaja Jain Temples at Talaja - Complex of Jain temples on a hill -
Palitana - city
of Jain temples, lies at the feet of Shatrunjaya hills, in the eastern part of
the Saurashtra. From this town a flight of steps begins and leads to a cluster
of 863 hill top temples built over a period of 900 years. -
Girnar - Near Junagadh,
The tallest of the Girnar mountains rises to 945 meters (3600 feet), the highest peak in Gujarat. The first peak of Girnar has a collection of Digambar and Shwetambar temples.
The Neminath Temple at first peak is one of the main attraction of Girnar. It
was built during 1128 AD to 1159 AD. The Rishabhadev Temple, situated nearby is dedicated to 24 Tirthankars of Jain religion. Another Jain temple in the region is the Parshwanath
Temple built in the 15th century. -
Kumbhariaji (near
Ambaji) Beautiful cluster of live 1034-1162 AD Kain temple with intricate marble
carving rivaling those of Dilwara and Ranakpura. -
Taranga
- Exquisite carved 12th century Jain temple, with spectacular hilly location. -
Vadnagar - 12th
century Torans, beautiful carved Solanki period gates, lake, Nagar Brahmin havelis,
17th century Hatkeshwar temple. -
Dilwara
Temples (Mount Abu)- This complex consisting of five marble Jain temples is
one of the finest in Rajasthan. -
Jain
Tirthankaras (Mount Abu)- The Vimal Vasahi Temple is the oldest of these,
dedicated to the first Tirthankara. Built in 1031 AD, it is a superb example of
temple architecture. -
Ranakpur
Temple - Ranakpur is one of the five holy places of the Jain community. These
temples were built in the 15th century AD during the reign of Rana Kumbha and
are enclosed within a wall -
The Adbhudji Jain temple at Eklingji is of black marble and it dates back
to the 15th century CE. | |
