Bhuj (420 kms) / Hodka (480 kms) - Bhuj is access point for visiting Kutchchh. Kutchchh is visited for a peek into diverse craft and lifestyles exhibited by local communities. Craft forms comprise Rogan Art, lacquer work, bell marking, embroidery, work on fabrics and pottery. Kutchchh reservoirs, swamps and marshlands also form base for migratory birds making it a birding destination.  

Dhordo Village (White desert, Banni Villages (Craft villages), Greater Rann of Kutch (Bird watching in Winter), Ashapura Mata Temple (Mata no Madh, 90 kms), Narayan Sarovar (150 kms), Mandvi Beach (60 kms) are all visited from Bhuj.

Ajmer / Pushkar (550 kms) - The Dargah Shareef of Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti is situated at Ajmer and pilgrims visit Ajmer for this very reason all round the year and therefore a very popular ex-Ahmedabad pilgrimage getaway.

There are number of business hotels in Ajmer. In a more leisurely option, Merwara Estate is now restored and a fine lake front heritage hotel that is excellent for a getaway as well as being closer to Ajmer Sharief Dargah as compared to other getaway options at Pushkar . 

Pushkar (12 kms from Ajmer) is another emerging ex-Ahmedabad getaway.
