Forsyth Lodge at Satpura National Park (Madhya Pradesh, India) near 1.5 hours from Pachmarhi / Pipariya is a wonderfully stylish and comfortable lodge situated in approximately 45 acres of jungle about a kilometer from the northern edge of the Tawa Dam.

It is situated near the village of Sarangpur, opposite the Madai entrance to Satpura Tiger Reserve, at the northern edge of the reserve with Pachmarhi, being at the southeastern end. Madai has to be approached by boat across the Tawa Dam.

Satpura National park is a relatively new Park having good Tiger Population alongwith others such as Leopard, Sloth bear and varieties of birds. Satpura lies on a 4000 ft asl plateau surrounded by the reserve formed by the Tawa Dam makes it one of the most spectacular sanctuary for game drives in Central India. 

Forsyth Lodge is the first lodge to come up in the area, the guests can enjoy wildlife sightings and views in an area that is  completely devoid of any other tourists.

Accommodation : Accommodation comprises 12 individual cottages (8 twin and 4 double). All rooms are centrally air-conditioned, have overhead fans.

Season : The lodge is open from 16th October – 30 June each year.

  • By Air: To Bhopal or to Jabalpur followed by a 3 hour drive.

  • By Train: To Bhopal followed by a 3 hour drive. To Piparia or Itarsi, followed by a 1 ½ hour drive. 

  • By Road: From Pench – 7 hours. From Maheshwar – 8 hours. From Panchmarhi – 1 ½ hours. From Bhopal – 3 hours. 

Satpura National Park is visited as an Ex-Pipariya Short-break and as a part of Central India / Madhya Pradesh Wildlife, Birding and Holiday Itineray.
