Puri -
Introduction and Geography - Puri is leisure capital of Orissa known for Jagannath Temple, Konark Temple and
Beaches. It was once a major long-stay beach destination for overseas
guests. Its now a preferred destination for regional conferences, meets,
get-togethers and offsites.
Puri
- Accommodation, areas and its Character - Puri beaches are crowded and
sport a Mumbai Chowpatty (Crowded Promenade full of small roadside
eateries) like Character. There are only few good resorts / Hotels here
(such as The Chariot Resort, Blue
Orchid Resort, Holiday Resort)
suited for corporate groups. The most popular is Toshali
Sands which is a spread out Resort (more like an orchard retreat) a few
kilometers away from the town and the crowded beaches. Availability
Scenario: Good
accommodation options are limited and weekends almost certainly go full.
Therefore its advisable to plan in
advance.
Access :
Puri has a train good connectivity with Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar is the
nearest airport. There also limited train connectivity with other parts of
India as well (Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Vizag, Chennai etc.).
