Introduction and Geography - Aurangabad is known for its heritage
monuments and base town for visiting world renowned Ajanta & Ellora
Caves, Grineshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Lonar Crater. Aurangabad also is
now an industrial hub. Aurangabad
on account of its heritage monuments gets a lot of visitors from all over
the world especially those who practice Buddhism. Therefore there are a few
5-star category hotels here alongwith some 3-stars and budget options.
Availability
Scenario: Availability scenario is Extreme. While Oct-March is booked
completely by overseas groups, its difficult to get rooms at higher category
hotels unless its planned in advance. April - Sept is warm and therefore
generally available but weekends still go full and therefore prior planning
and reservation is recommended.
Access:
Aurangabad has overnight trains from Mumbai. Aurnagabad gets flights from
Mumbai and Udaipur. By Road its about 350 kms from Pune and 400 kms from
Mumbai.
