Royal Camp, a Welcomheritage enterprise,
captures the luxurious nostalgia of a bygone age of the Maharaja's safari and
shikar camps. The luxury tents combine
innovative designs that demonstrate many skills and crafts of Marwar. The Camp
consists of 100 custom made tents each with verandah, bedroom and bathroom. All
amenities and fittings have been created for maximum comfort. There is a large
dining tent serving the best of Rajasthani
cuisine and a large open reception tent with seating areas. The Campfire is the
focal point for the evening entertainment programme and rhythms of the Thar-music,

Fair, Jaisalmer Desert Fair and a permanent camp at Nagaur Fort from October to
March consisting of 20 tents. Custom-made

locations of your choice - old forts, desert sands, mountains, lakes or jungle
- provided a minimum of two nights and 15 tents. Nagaur
lies about midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner. The city of Nagaur dates back to
the 4th century A.D and was at the centre of Muslim invasions from
Central Asia.The massive protective walls of the historic Nagaur Fort encompass
an ancient complex of richly painted palaces, mosques, temples, intricate baoris
(reservoirs), water systems, fountains, open terraces and pleasure gardens dating
back to the Mughal times. Delicate paintings adorn many of the walls and ceilings
of the palaces. The old city also contains several mosques, including one commissioned
by Akbar. Nagaur
Cattle Fair: Nagaur hosts a week-long cattle fair which takes place in late
January or early February. The fair attracts thousands of rural people. There
are camel races and various cultural entertainment programmes by folk artistes. Facilities
