Location
- The Kanha National Park lies 160 Kms southeast of jabalpur in the
state of Madhya Pradesh. kanha is 270 Kms Northeast of the city of
Nagpur. The Mapple Tiger Retreat is on the Banjar river closer to Kisli
Gate.
Flora And Fauna - Kanha's sal and bamboo forests,
rolling grasslands abd meandering streams strecth over 940 sq kms in
dramatic natural splendour. Kanha also has some 200 species of birds
which include storks, teals, pintails, pond gerons, egrets, peacock etc.

Best Time To Visit - The ideal season for Tiger
sighting is from October to June. The park is closed from July 1st to
September 30th.
Weather - The temperature ranges from a maximum of 42
degrees in May and June to around 4 degrees in Winter. The mean annual
rainfall is 1,1173 mm.
What To Wear - Light clothes preferably in beige or
jungle greens in summers with the definite inclusion of cap and dark
glasses. During winters, especially between the Month of November and
February, carry warm clothing for chilly mornings and misty evenings.
How To Reach
By Air : Nagpur, Rajpur and Jabalpur have the nearest airports to
Kanha National park.
Nagpur is situated at a distance of about 270 kms, Rajpur at a distance
of 213 kms and Jabalpur at a distance of 160 kms from Kanha.
By Rail : Jabalpur has the nearest railhead to Kanha National
Park.
By Road : There are regular buses from Jabalpur to Kanha. Taxis
are also available for hire from Jabalpur, Bilaspur and Raipur
