The Cellular Jail, now declared a national monument, was the prison in which many Indian freedom fighters spent long years in solitary confinement in small cells ( 4 m x 2.7 m ) with a single ventilator. A must visit for everyone.Special attraction - sound and light show.

The Chatham Saw Mills is one of Asia's oldest sawmills, featuring rare species of timber (such as kokko, chulgam, marblewood and satinwood).

The Anthropological Museum houses models of the habitats of the Paleolithic islanders and their tools and implements.

The Marine Museum displays more than 350 specimens of local aquatic life. A small Zoo exhibits numerous specimens of local fauna.

The Cottage Industries Emporium displays a variety of artifacts crafted from mother of pearl and local woods.

Corbyn's Cave is one of the more picturesque beaches, with excellent bathing spots.

Jolly Buoy is a popular tourist spot famous for its glass bottomed boats, through which you can peer down the crystal waters to see life in the deep unfold all its millennia - old splendor. The ideal coral experience!!!

Ross Island was once the seat of the British Administration. The Chief Commissioner's residence, modeled on Windsor Castle, now lies in ruins.

Burmah Nallah(17 kms) features lumbering operations aided by trained elephants.

Chiriya Tapu (Bird Island) (25 kms), is an ideal picnic site, with its lush green mangroves, picturesque beach and creeks and excellent fishing. True to its name, there is indeed a profusion of tropical birds.

Wandoor Beach (an hours drive) is the right place to go for snorkeling and driving. There are many islands around Port Blair, Viper Island, Nell Island, and Long Island.

Each of these have stretches of lovely sandy beaches and lush green forests.

Mount Harriet
Once the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British Raj, situated at about 365 meters above sea level. Mount Harriet is the highest peak near Port Blair. One can witness beautiful sunrise and sunset from this place.

Barren Islands
At a distance of about 135 km. From Port Blair is the land of volcano, Barren Island, the only active volcano in India. The island about 3 kms. in diameter has a big crater of the volcano, rising abruptly from the sea, about ½ km . form the shore and is about 150 fathoms deep. The volcano erupted twice in the recent past, once in 1991 and again in 1994-95, after remaining dormant for about 177 years. The volcano is again dormant now.

M. G. Marine National Park
The Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park at Wandoor is at a distance of 29 kms from Port Blair covering an area of 281.5 sq kms. This Marine Park made-up of open sea, creeks and 15 small and large islands, is one of the best found anywhere in the world. Viewing of rare corals and underwater marine life through glass bottom boats, Scuba diving and snorkeling are lifetime experiences for anyone. Coral reefs, exotic varieties of beautifully coloured coral fishes and other marine life abound the area. The fascinating world of tropical forests and the sandy beaches and clear blue waters offer excellent sight to the eyes. This park provides a rich and varied habitat for marine animals which range from the smallest zoo Plankton to the large sea mammals like Dolphins. The area abounds in colorful varieties of coral reef fishes like the clown fish, butterfly fish, surgeonfish, angelfish, parrot-fish, bat fish and Groupers. White-tip shark, Hammer-head shark, Manta-ray and Blue-fin jack are also occasionally seen. The islands inside the park are also among the best nesting grounds for four species of marine turtles including Green Sea, Leather Back, Hawk Bill and Olive Ridley. The creeks inside the park are ideal for the salt-water crocodile. Water monitor lizard and sea snakes such as the banded sea snake also have their home here.

Rajiv Gandhi Velodrome at Port Blair is of international standard and fourth largest in the country.
