Malabar Circuit - North Kerala : KE/04 - Vythiri/Kalpetta/Sultan Battery(2) – Nagarhole(2)Madikeri/Siddhapur(2) - Bekal Houseboat / Bekal Beach / Beach Resort near Mangalore (2)

 

Suggested Itinerary (This is an indicative itinerary, Sequence of the activities may vary and depend on prevailing weather condition and guest preferences)

Day 1: Arrive at Calicut and Transfer to Vythri (65 kms) / Kalpetta (80 kms) / Sultan Battery(100 kms). Relax for rest of the Day.
Day 2: After Breakfast do Half day sightseeing around Wayanad. Evening visit Tea plantation / Nature Trail.
Day 3 : After Breakfast Leave for One of the Jungle Lodges around Nagarhole Area (100 - 120 kms). Do evening Park Safari. 
Day 4 : Morning Park Safari, Elephant Ride before Breakfast. Evening Park Safari and Boat/Coracle Ride.
Day 5: After Breakfast proceed to Madikeri. Relax for rest of the day.
Day 6: After Breakfast Visit Tibetan Monastery and Dubare Elephant Camp.
Day 7 and 8: After Breakfast Proceed to Kasargod (70 - 90 kms) / Bekal Beach (70 - 90 kms) / Mangalore (150 - 170 kms). Relax and do local sightseeing.
Day 9 : After breakfast proceed to Mangalore Airport or take a train from the nearest Railway Station. 

Note: 

  • Additional 2 nights stay at Calicut (either at Kadavu Resort or Beaches nearby Calicut (Kappad or Malappuram) also can be considered for relaxation. 

  • Ooty / Murumalai / Bandipur can be added in between Wayanad and Nagarhole for additional 1 or two nights.

  • Bekal / Nileshwar can be added for two nights before or instead of Mangalore stay. Bekal is a fort and a beach and is home to a beach camp and a two heritage homestays. Nileshwar is a backwater canal network and has a resort and an overnight houseboat service for guest to opt for.

Calicut (State: Kerala, Category : Backwaters / Beaches ) (2 nights) ; Calicut is one of the busiest cities of Kerala. However outskirts of Calicut lies a wonderful backwaters and for simple relaxation it is a good options for accommodation (Kadavu Resort).

Madikeri: (State: Karnataka, Category : Plantation, Height - 2500 -3200 ft above sea level.) (2 to 3nights) - Madikeri is Dist Headquarters of the Kodagu District (Popularly known as "Coorg") situated 3200 above sea level. Madikeri is surrounded by Coffee and spice plantations all around it. Siddhapur is one such popular plantation centre.

IV. KUSHALNAGAR:

  • (B) HARANGI DAM

  • (C) NISARGADHAMA ± NATURAL ISLAND ± CROSS BY HANGING BRIDGE . ± DEER PARK ± TREE HOUSE. ± ELEPHANT RIDE ± BOATING (SEASONAL)

V. TALACAUVERY:

TEMPLE - ORIGIN OF RIVER CAUVERY  (EXTRA CHARGES TO INCLUDE MADIKERI SIGHTSEEING AS PER ITEM III ABOVE ALSO)

VI. VALANOOR FISHING CAMP :

PORTION OF RIVER CAUVERY, KNOWN WORLD OVER FOR MAHSEER GAME FISHING (ANGLING). FEES TO COORG WILDLIFE SOCIETY AT SPOT. FISHING SEASON - OCT. TO MAY.

VII. GOLF:

 AT “MERCARA DOWNS ” AT MADIKERI. (CADDIE TO BE BOOKED 24 HRS IN ADVANCE. OWN GOLF KIT PLEASE.) AT BITTANGALA - VIA VIRAJPET FROM SIDPUR  

VIII ; Dubare Elephant Reserve and Training Camp – Here you can bathe a few elephants and take elephant ride. This is a few kms from Kushalnagar and about 20 kms from Madikeri.  

Bekal / Nileshwar (State: Kerala, Category : Backwater and Beaches) (2 nights) : Bekal is known for Bekal Fort and with a lot of other sightseeing options.
